
Troy graduated from Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan in 1997.
Following a surgical internship in Alberta, he returned to Western and completed a 3 year Large Animal Surgical Residency with a concurrent Masters of Veterinary Science degree. He then continued as a Clinical Associate in Large Animal Surgery. Following certification in 2002 by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Troy accepted a position at Iowa State University as an Assistant Professor of Equine Surgery. For the last three years, Troy has worked as a locum surgeon in private and academic institutions in Australia and Canada including Scone Equine Hospital in 2005. He joined Scone Equine Hospital full time in 2008.
